Brabus takes Mercedes-AMG's already formidable G63 and rebuilds it into something singular: the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 is reworked with larger turbochargers and bespoke engine management to deliver 800 horsepower and a colossal wave of torque through the nine-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive. Outside, widened carbon-fibre arches, a bonnet scoop, forged Monoblock wheels and quad side-exit exhausts announce its intent long before the V8 clears its throat. Inside, the cabin is trimmed in quilted Brabus fine leather with carbon accents and illuminated sills — a lounge of extraordinary craftsmanship perched high above the road. Driving it is theatre: the boxy silhouette and squared-off shoulders give you commanding presence, while the throttle response makes a 2.5-tonne luxury off-roader accelerate like a sports car. Few vehicles on earth combine this much presence, capability and hand-finished excess in one machine.
